Supervisory Insights Journal Now Out: FDIC discusses Real Estate Valuation and Mobile Banking

The winter issue of the FDIC’s Supervisory Insights Journal is now available.   This quarterly journal has three articles.

  • The first article discusses supervisory expectations for prudent real estate appraisals and evaluations
  • The second article discusses the risks and rewards of mobile banking, and strategies for dealing with these risks
  • The third article contains a summary of recently released regulatory guidance.

The FDIC release discussing the Journal describes the first two articles as being of “critical interest” to examiners, bankers, and supervisors.  However, the FDIC also noted that the articles should not be viewed as “supervisory guidance.”
